Just like the digital television switchover which finished in 2012, (yes that’s right 7 years ago!) there will be a digital switchover with radio in the coming years across the UK and in Europe.

Rather than using analogue format to broadcast radio like FM stations, DAB is transmitted digitally. Many of the big names in radio have taken their stations to DAB as it’s a much easier way of finding stations.
It simply connects automatically and you can scroll through a list of names rather than a range of frequencies. 

As well as a list of names, once you are listening to a station it will normally tell you the radio presenter and the name of the artist playing the song or maybe if there’s a match playing it will tell you who’s playing who.

There is also a much wider list of channels with many more stations you wouldn’t find on normal FM/AM Radio. Not to mention the improved reception. One thing we love about digital radio is this and no more crackling or hissing when you drive slightly out of range. 

How can you get DAB Radio?
Well there is a few options you can go for. Replace your old radio in your vehicle with a new radio with DAB or there are also DAB add on kits available for your car to keep the original stereo.
