Dash Cams are becoming more and more popular and as their popularity grows, so do the list of features that they can do.
With the new Thinkware Dash Cams out like the Q900 Pro, they record with 2K quality and even save footage straight to an online cloud.
There is many models of dash cam in the Thinkware range but only a few have WiFi which allows you to connect to the Thinkware Dash Cam Mobile Viewer app. In future I’m sure all the Thinkware range will come standard with WiFi. For now however only the Q800 Pro, F800 Pro, F770, F200 and X350 in car cameras connect to the mobile app.
So here’s a quick run through of connecting your phone to your Dash Cam. Note this is only for Thinkware Dash Cams.
So the first thing you should do is download the Thinkware app onto your phone or even iPad or tablet from the app store.
Then press the Wifi button on your Dash Cam, this turns on the connections.
Then go into your phone WiFi settings, select the dash camera and now your connected!
You can now go into your app and view live recording of the Dash Cam, view previous recorded incidents, recent footage etc. It’s really a great way of quickly viewing any incidents or even checking up on your vehicle if you are already connected to it and in range but not in direct view of your vehicle.
We've also done a quick video for you to see just exactly how to connect your phone. This one was with the Thinkware F770 Dash Camera and on an iPhone X.
